Mrs. Shashikanta was born on March 4, 1949, in the tranquil town of Devband, nestled in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Born into a humble, middle-class Hindu family, she was the daughter of the revered Shri Lal Data Ram Sharaaf, a man of deep faith, and the late Smt. Meenawati Ji, a devoted housewife whose every action radiated love and spirituality. Their home was a sanctuary of devotion, where each prayer and each moment spent together wove the fabric of Shashikanta Ji’s life, shaping her into the compassionate soul that she was.
Her early years were marked by a vibrant spirit, as she attended the local Government Girls High School. There, her talent and creativity shone brightly. Whether through intricate embroidery, graceful dance, melodious singing, or the rhythmic beats of the dholak, Shashikanta Ji captivated everyone around her. Her school days were filled with recognition—first prizes in both cultural and sports events, a testament to her boundless energy and passion for life. But more than awards and accolades, it was the love for her community and her unshakable sense of duty that formed the cornerstone of her journey.
Mrs. Shashikanta’s spiritual devotion was equally profound. She immersed herself in the study of sacred texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and Ramcharitmanas, drawing wisdom and peace from every verse. Her daily routine, marked by early morning prayers and rituals, was a reflection of her disciplined and peaceful approach to life. Every day, she rose with the sun, and with each prayer, she touched the lives of those around her, radiating love, serenity, and a sense of purpose.
On September 28, 2020, Mrs. Shashikanta left this world, leaving a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who had been blessed by her presence. But even in her passing, she continues to inspire and guide us. The “Shashikanta Smriti Manch” was established as a tribute to her life, ensuring that her work in the fields of spirituality and social welfare continues to thrive. Her legacy of love, service, and devotion to humanity lives on, as we strive to carry forward her vision of a more compassionate and just world.
